2. Rechargeable Ni-MH or alkaline AA batteries can be used for a flexible backup solution when travelling or in an unexpected situation. The AA batteries are not included.

HC-350D Battery Grip Canon EOS 350D & 400D Digital SLR Camera

This Hahnel HC-350D digital SLR camera battery grip is suitable for use with the Canon EOS-350D and EOS-400D digital cameras.

The battery grip slots into the digital cameras battery compartment and is then secured in place using the tripod screw mechanism.

For use with the following digital SLR cameras:

Canon EOS-350D
Canon EOS-400D

The Canon fit battery grip comes with one NB-2L Lithium-Ion battery which together with your current battery, slots inside the battery grip so you have two batteries in use simultaneously. You also get an adaptor which takes AA batteries which can be used instead of the NB-2L batteries. This can be used if you get caught out when the usual batteries are not charged.

In short, this Canon fit battery grip simply gives you double the shooting capacity, emergency power by use of the AA adaptor and a very much improved grip of the digital camera.
